PRE-SEASON TRAINING - AINSLIE JUNIORS

Pre-season training has started across a number of Junior age groups for those new and returning players who are keen to work on their skills and fitness ahead of the season starting in May.

UPDATE - SPECIAL MERCHANDISE OPPORTUNITY

We are pleased to announce that this year we have introduced an exciting new clothing range for players and supporters. The range includes tracksuit pants, puffer vests and jackets and training gear and is available online for a limited time from our supplier, JS Sports. Note that calf length socks are for Senior players only.
Our first online campaign has now closed but a second campaign will be opening from Sunday 23 February 2020 for two weeks so watch this space.
In addition to the online apparel we also stock a range of clothing and merchandise at our office at 5 Angas Street, Ainslie, including the popular Ainslie hoodies, polo shirts and winter jackets. Beanies, backpacks, sports bags, stubby holders and brand new cap and scarf designs are also available from the office. You are welcome to come into the office during business hours, Monday – Friday, and have a browse or simply complete a merchandise order form (see link below) and email it to lyn.parkinson@netspeed.com.au and she will let you know when your order has been filled.

We trust that you all find the new role extraordinarliy rewarding.
Our massive thanks to Matt Jamieson, Tom Lemmon & Giles Tranter who aren't coaching in 2020. They have all opted to take a break from coaching and their past efforts have all been very important to our Club.
Matt filled the Men's 2s coach role part way through the season and did a terrific job with that young team.
Tom & Giles, have been fantastic facilitating the transition of players between Senior & Community footy.
We wish each coach well in the upcoming season.

Our last Home & Away game in Senior Footy this weekend. And all 6 Senior games will be played at Alan Ray Oval, Ainslie across Saturday & Sunday
- 1st Grade (2pm), 2nd Grade (11:45am) & Rising Stars (9:45am) teams play Eastlake this Saturday.
- Women’s team (10am) also take on Eastlake but on Sunday, while 3rd Grade (2:15pm) &
4th Grade (12pm) play Woden Blues after the Womens’ game.

Ainslie Club coach Chris Rourke will coach his 200th First Grade game for Ainslie on Sunday 4 June in the Round 7 game between Ainslie and Queanbeyan.
Chris was appointed coach for the 2007 season and has taken Ainslie to 3 Premierships in his 10 seasons.

Muir Medal

The Round 7 game between Ainslie and Queanbeyan at Alan Ray Oval, Ainslie will honour the Muir family who have had involvement in the Queanbeyan and Ainslie Football Clubs. Alan Muir is a legend of the Queanbeyan Club and his son Ian has been heavily involved at the Ainslie Club.
The Muir Medal is awarded to the player judged as Best player on the ground.

The Ainslie Open Day is coming up soon - Sunday March 19, from 11am-2pm at Alan Ray Oval, Ainslie.
We are extremely fortunate to have Jess Bibby [GWS Giants Womens Team & former Opal & Capitals basketball player] & Carrie Graf (ex Opals & Capitals Basketball coach and Ainslie Football Board member) joining us from noon.
Kick & a catch on one of Canberra's premier grounds with some of Ainslie’s 2016 premiership players, a kicking competition, some fun activities including our inflatable kicking marquee and handball targets, plus coaches, players & Board members are around for a chat. And you can check out where we are up to with our Memorabilia Room.
Visit our physio and podiatrist in attendance for families to have a chat with about any relevant issues (oscar schlatters syndrome is a common one) plus an opportunity to book in for our heavily discounted custom fit mouthguards.
We will have stalls representing banking, sports retail, office needs and even the NBN.
Plus terrific music from some of our Ainslie players, merchandise, BBQ, and so much more. Its a great chance for people to have a look around and find out a little bit more about the Ainslie Football Club.

Sam Fisher and Jack Powell have been selected in the NSW/ACT Rams Team to play Calder Cannons on Saturday 16 April.
