NEAFL Round 2 - Ainslie v Eastlake

 

 

Ainslie have defeated local rivals Eastlake by 123 points in the round 2 NEAFL game.

 

Ainslie opened up well in the first quarter taking a 31 point lead into the break. The second quarter was more even with Eastlake kicking 4 goals to 5 by Ainslie.

 

Eastlake had no answer to the marking power of Ainslie's Nick Salter up forward in the second half and he finished the game with 14 goals. The last quarter was very one-sided as Ainslie kicked 9 goals to Eastlake's 2. Ainslie controlled the clearances through Ian Lawless, Jesse Manton and Aaron Wiles.

 

 

Ainslie retain the Dee Day Trophy which is awarded to the winner in all games between these clubs in honour of former Ainslie and Eastlake player Sam Dee.
