Vinnies Doorknock Appeal
Ainslie is again assisting with the Vinnies Doorknock Appeal on Sunday Feb 28 (meet at Ainslie Social Club at 10am). We want your help to to double our collectors from 2015 - please volunteer a couple of hours to support this great organisation.
The appeal raises vital funds for Vinnies services that provide immediate and long-term assistance to thosewith urgent and ongoing needs.
“we need to be about more than just footy, this is a great opportunity to show that our players can give more to the community, and learn more about their local community through that process.”

With $500 worth of Sporting Equipment for the winning School, you just need to be part of it.

With the forecast reading “High (70%) chance of showers during the day time. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and early evening” we have decided to POSTPONE this game/event.
We will now look at hosting age specific Players v Parents/Friends games on the AINSLIE OPEN DAY – which will likely be February 18 or 25, or March 4.

Expression of Interest for Junior Coaching positions in 2018

Attached is an Expression of Interest document outlining coach responsibilities for all those wishing to coach at Ainslie in 2018.
The document includes 1 page forms for Senior & Junior coaching positions - the forms need to be completed if you have a desire to coach at Ainslie in 2018.
This is designed at gauging the interest in coaching and may be followed up by a request for further information – may depend on the number of people interested in the role.

U15s GWS Giants Academy Trials

Please note that there are U15s GWS Giants Academy Trials being held at Reid Oval on Thursday February 2 from 5:00-6:30pm. Open to players who are interested in being selected into the U15 squad for 2017. Players who have already been selected in the initial squad don’t have to attend.
Players who are interested in attending just bring football boots, drink bottle, mouthguard and wear club foot ball gear.

Kicking Clinics

The Ainslie Juniors will be running a 4 week Kicking Program from Thurs Nov 17 to Dec 8, at Alan Ray Oval, Ainslie (enclosed oval behind the Ainslie Social & Football Club).
The program is for all interested in Footy - current & future players. While targeted at boys & girls up to 12 years of age, the sessions are open to anyone looking to improve their Kicking.
Please join us for some fun and informative sessions.

ActewAGL has been a proud supporter of AFL Canberra for over 10+ years, so next weekend we are taking the opportunity to #ThankyouActewAGL for their support of local junior football, AFL Canberra are holding an ActewAGL Round for the AFL Canberra Junior Competition (Round 11, weekend of Sunday 31 July).
AFL Canberra, ActewAGL and the GWS Giants are giving our Junior participants the opportunity to win a GWS Giants Merchandise Pack valued at $200.00 and a runners up Merchandise Pack valued at $100.00. To be in the running, parents and/or participants are required to post a photo of you having FUN during ActewAGL Round next Saturday on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter tagging @ActewAGL and @aflcanberra using the #ThankyouActewAGL hashtag.
The most creative photo will be deemed the winner and notified by AFL Canberra by Wednesday August 3.

RETURN OF THE FOOTY CLUB BUS TRIP

Over 50 Junior Ainslie players and parents took off for Spotless Stadium early last Saturday and enjoyed a great day watching the GWS Giants v Collingwood Magpies clash. It was a toss up whether the trip on the Murrays coach to and from the game was more entertaining than the game itself.

In Community football there will be no Law changes in 2016 but stricter Interpretation including
- Deliberate out of bounds

I'm Adam Kennedy from the GIANTS, aligned to the Ainslie Juniors and will be representing you whenever I pull on the GIANTS Guernsey.
Our footy season is now here and I'm very excited to get out there and play. With your season starting very soon, I hope you’re just as excited!
I would like to remind you about the GIANTS Junior Club March which is happening very soon. This is a great event where you get to represent your club with a lap of honour around Manuka Oval prior to our game. The clubs march will take place in Round 4 when we take on Port Adelaide on Sunday 17 April.
To be a part of this day, speak to your coach or team manager as they have been given all the information about the event.
Remember if you’re not already a member, it’s not too late to sign up. The ACT Junior club with the most members as a percentage of registered players by 30 June; will go in to the draw to win a great match day prize. Visit our website at gwsgiants.com.au for more info.

Ainslie have two Auskick Rookies sessions running in Season 2015. Our Wednesday sessions commenced on 29 April from 3:30 - 4:30pm, and run through to 1 July.
Our Sunday sessions commence on 14 June from 10:30-11.30am. Final session 23 August (not held 4 & 11 July).
Trainings will be on either Alan Ray Oval, Ainslie or Majura Oval (across the road from Alan Ray Oval) .
Please ensure players wear comfortable, warm clothing applicable to the weather, plenty of water for hydration and a keeness to learn AFL skills. The program runs for 9 weeks. Parental assistance is paramount to a fun and effective sessions.
