Ash Harris 150th Game, Clint Mathis 100th Game

On Saturday in Round 17 of the NEAFL Ash Harris plays his 150th First Grade game for Ainslie and Clint Mathis will play his 100th First Grade game for Ainslie.

Ash Harris came to the Ainslie U18s after a background in soccer. He showed that he had all the skills to be a successful AFL player and was soon called into the Ainslie First Grade team. He played his first game in round 10 2006 against the Wagga Tigers and then played 9 of the last 10 games including the Semi-Final.

He was awarded the AFL Canberra Best First Year Player Award in 2006.

In 2007 Ash was awarded the Ainslie Rising Star award playing 16 games. In 2008 he was awarded the Richard Fleming Memorial Award and was chosen in the ACT Representative Team to play in the Australian Country Football Championships.

In 2011 and 2012 Ash played in the ACT under 23 Representative team against GWS.

Ash was Runner-up in the Ainslie Best & Fairest, the Hibberson Cup in 2013 and 2014 behind Aaron Vandenberg.

2013 was a great year for Ash as he was selected in the NEAFL Eastern Conference Team of the Year and also finished third in the Mulrooney Medal count.

Ash is a very talented left foot kick and can play anywhere on the ground.  He has been rewarded for his hard work and commitment to the Club with 2 Premierships in 2010 and 2011.

Clint Mathis came to Ainslie with his brother Andrew in 2008 after their Club the Weston Creek Wildcats folded. Clint played 17 games with Weston Creek but didn't play in a winning team until coming to Ainslie.

Clint played 16 games in his first season with Ainslie.

A very versatile player Clint played through the midfield, across half back and down forward. His game was characterised by great runs through the lines bouncing the balls several times. He loved to run with the ball and his speed made him hard to catch.

Clint is also a two times Premiership player with Ainslie after he was a member of the 2010 and 2011 Premiership teams.

The Ainslie Football Club would like to congratulate both Ash and Clint on their Milestones with the Club.

All the best for the game on Saturday.
